Delamere's
fundamental aim is to enable all pupils to realise
their true potential. To this end a broad based curriculum
encompassing a wide range of activities is provided,
to enable each pupil to experience success. The school
provides a setting in which pupils can develop confidence
and raise self-esteem. This is considered vital if
a pupil is to make worthwhile progress in the classroom.
Class
sizes are small averaging six pupils, and often
smaller for some subject areas. All children are
continually assessed and monitored through their
individual education programme in order to determine
the level of progress being made in each subject
area.
Wherever
possible children work towards external accreditation
and much of the curriculum is based upon external
examination standards.
Towards
the end of year nine, there is a detailed analysis
of each pupil's strengths and weaknesses in order
to help determine the most appropriate educational
course.
